Efficiently prepare food items while adhering to menu specifications and established recipes. Focus on precision and effective time management to deliver exceptional culinary products.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to cook, prepare, plate, and assemble dishes.
  • Ensure workstations are properly set up and maintained for cleanliness before, during, and after shifts.
  • Strictly follow all safety protocols and implement clean-as-you-go practices.
  • Adhere to health regulations and hand hygiene standards.
  • Prepare all food items in accordance with standard recipes and menu guidelines to maintain product consistency.
  • Compile an order list for ingredient preparations.
  • Utilize mathematical skills to modify recipe ratios for scaling and batch cooking.
  • Maintain open communication with Lead Cook, Line Cooks, and Chefs.
  • Prepare a variety of hot and cold sauces.
  • Possess fundamental knife skills.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program.
  • Exhibit the ability to perform all tasks with a higher level of accuracy and speed than a standard Cook.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must possess the ability to:
  • Operate kitchen machinery and utilize tools such as slicers, steamers, deep fryers, ovens, broilers, grills, mixers, kettles, flat tops, choppers, and knives.
  • Engage in physically demanding tasks that require mobility, including bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, carrying, climbing, walking long distances, reaching, and twisting. These actions are necessary for monitoring food preparation and inspecting kitchen areas.
  • Lift and transport goods in a food warmer weighing up to 300 lbs. on a continuous basis.
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend basic English to interpret recipes and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Adhere to food cost control procedures and maintain quality standards.
  • Complete all assigned side work, including restocking and replenishing workstations.
  • Gather all necessary items for recipe execution with precision.
  • Work with small, delicate, and sensitive equipment (knives) requiring fine motor skills.
  • Consistently present oneself in a manner that reflects a positive professional image.
  • Utilize mathematical skills for recipe measurements and calculations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of one year of experience in food preparation and culinary knowledge is required. Must be capable of performing all cooking responsibilities. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency is essential. Completion of any necessary classes or certifications mandated by local regulations or the organization is required.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
  • Participate in required training sessions provided by the organization.
  • Perform duties in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that minors are not permitted to engage in gambling activities or access restricted areas.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures pertaining to the department.
  • Refer to Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report any illegal activities to Security or appropriate management levels.
