About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Director to join our team at Gilbane Building Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective safety programs and protocols to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement safety plans, procedures, and training programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and contractors on safety best practices and procedures.
  • Investigate and document incidents, near-misses, and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry partners, and stakeholders to stay informed on safety trends and best practices.
  • Participate in performance reviews and provide feedback to employees on safety performance.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain safety metrics and reporting to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10-15+ years of relevant construction safety experience.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
