The Amsterdam At Harborside is seeking a skilled Geriatric Caregiver to join our team. As a key member of our care staff, you will provide exceptional support and care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Job Description

We are committed to providing a safe, clean, and orderly environment for our residents. Our ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve this goal.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Bathes, dresses, and undresses residents with dignity and respect;
  • Serves and collects food trays and feeds residents requiring assistance;
  • Transports residents or assists residents to walk safely;
  • Drapes residents for examinations and treatments, and remains with residents to perform such duties as holding instruments and adjusting lights;
  • Turns and repositions bedfast residents, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores;
  • Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers the telephone with a friendly and courteous demeanor;
  • Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed;

Salary Information

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of experience in geriatric care or a related field;
  • A valid Certified Nurse's Aide certification from the state of New York;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team;
