Job Title: Electrical Systems Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Perquimans County School District. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, public address systems, fire alarm systems, CATV systems, scoreboards, irrigation controls, clocks, and generator systems in our school facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test and repair malfunctioning electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical, communication, and related systems in school facilities.
  • Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical devices, machinery, and equipment.
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduit.
  • Draw wire through conduit and complete necessary splicing, soldering, and application of friction tape.
  • Install and connect equipment to wiring systems.
  • Replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Replace faulty electrical components.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school supplemented by vocational training in electrical field and 1 to 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance.
  • Possession of a valid electrician's license based on State requirements as directed by the North Carolina Board of Electrical Examiners.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the state of North Carolina.
Working Conditions:

The Electrical Systems Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will be required to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhere to all safety protocols, and follow all applicable laws and regulations.

The Electrical Systems Specialist will be required to work in a variety of settings, including school facilities, maintenance shops, and outdoor locations.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 150 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights.

The Electrical Systems Specialist will be required to maintain accurate records and reports, and to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a commitment to customer service, teamwork, and continuous learning and professional development.
