Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY
This role involves providing essential support with daily living activities for residents, guided by nursing and medical personnel. The position demands exceptional customer service abilities and a high level of professionalism at all times.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Delivering compassionate care to residents.
  • Actively listening to residents and their families, addressing all inquiries and concerns.
  • Assisting with comprehensive resident care, including but not limited to toileting, monitoring vital signs, transferring, bathing, dressing, and maintaining hygiene, while promptly reporting any resident issues or changes in condition to the supervising nursing staff.
  • Assuming dining room responsibilities as necessary (cross-training will be provided).
  • Ensuring a secure environment during resident activities.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

  • This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of a one-year certificate program from a college or technical school; or three to six months of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Capable of effectively communicating before groups of customers or employees.

REASONING SKILLS

  • Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to address problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification from the State of Florida; completion of all mandated training is required. Current CPR certification is also necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, or hear, walk, use hands to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • The employee must be capable of lifting, transferring, and/or assisting residents as needed with appropriate support. Must be able to discern colors related to skin tones and call lights. Must be able to hear clearly with or without assistive devices.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The employee may occasionally work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), near moving mechanical parts, with fumes or airborne particles, and in various outdoor weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), with risks of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Moderate noise levels are expected (examples include a business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
