Job Summary

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will provide quality rehabilitation care to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute established patient treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, referring physicians, and other members of the team.
  • Provide timely and accurate written documentation per facility and department requirements.
  • Develop and enhance clinical and professional skills through ongoing education and professional association.
  • Support and participate in department operations and development.
  • Report any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and submit patient charges accurately to access appropriate billing information.
  • Coordinate treatment goals with other team members.

Requirements

  • Current Florida COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) License
  • Current CPR certification
  • At least one (1) year of experience working in a skilled nursing facility preferred
