Job Overview

Roanoke College Dining Services is in search of a Dishroom Attendant to support our culinary operations. This role is essential for maintaining the efficiency of our food service, ensuring a well-organized kitchen environment.

Primary Duties:

  • Implement safety and sanitation protocols as directed by health authorities and management.
  • Properly dispose of waste from food preparation areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping and mopping, ensuring they are free from spills and debris.
  • Ensure adequate levels of cleaning chemicals in designated areas.
  • Keep a tidy and organized work area consistently.
  • As required, wash all kitchenware, including dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, adhering to sanitation guidelines.
  • Inspect cleaned items for cleanliness and store them appropriately.
  • Execute all responsibilities in compliance with Dining Services regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other departments.
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Our personnel are expected to exhibit professionalism, courtesy, and respect in all interactions with students, staff, and the public. This full-time position operates within the academic schedule and requires availability on alternate weekends. Uniforms and safety shoe allowances are provided, along with complimentary meals during shifts.
