About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Resources Planner to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our water resources management team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to clients and stakeholders on floodplain management, hazard mitigation, and risk communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program, Risk MAP, and Community Rating System (CRS) to provide technical support and training to clients and stakeholders.
  • Support the floodplain management, training, outreach, and special projects lead in technical writing, document publication, and editing.
  • Develop and deliver training courses, outreach materials, and written publications on floodplain management and hazard mitigation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in planning or a related field, or 10 years of related work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience with floodplain development/permit review, ordinance enforcement, hazard mitigation plan development, training development, and public information or outreach related activities.
  • Completion of FEMA's EMI E273 course (or equivalent).
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) is preferred.
