Job Title: Dedicated Flooring Sales Representative

The Protective & Marine Division of The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a skilled sales professional to join our team. As a Dedicated Flooring Sales Representative, you will be responsible for building brand awareness with engineers and owners, and negotiating sales and closing deals with flooring application contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prospect new business and make sales calls to existing accounts.
  • Develop a strategy to grow business with customers by identifying product solutions and service capabilities to meet customer needs.
  • Develop a weekly selling plan and conduct sales calls accordingly.
  • Determine where the customer is in the overall selling process and what steps are necessary to advance the process towards closing the sale.
  • Conduct product demos to support the selling process.
  • Coordinate Technical Service needed to support customers' application requirements.
  • Identify sources of sales leads and follow through on leads provided by store/facility personnel as appropriate.
  • Manage customer complaints within lines of authority and manage process to resolution.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
  • Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years business-to-business sales experience in industrial flooring systems.
  • Prefer experience as a Commercial Branch Manager or Sales Rep with proven successful sales performance in a large territory; or comparable non-SW industry Sales Rep experience.
  • Ability to travel (occasionally overnight) as needed.
  • Ability to maintain a discipline in pre-call planning daily and monthly activity to ensure time is maximized and the territory SherPlan is being executed.
  • Knowledge and proficient user of sales excellence methods in sales calls and time management.
  • Ability to evaluate growth and improvement opportunities and establish a viable territory business plan.
  • Experience and proven success in conducting outside sales calls on industrial flooring accounts to build new business and increase existing business.
  • Excellent wholesale customer service skills, including problem solving and handling customer complaints within lines of authority and manage process to resolution.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including professional presence and exhibiting confidence with customers.
