Behavioral Health Technician

Casa Palmera Los Angeles is a leading dual diagnosis treatment center seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary therapeutic team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily needs and provide milieu interventions to promote a safe and supportive environment.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Recognize and respond to crisis situations, providing interventions as necessary.
- Deliver indirect and selected direct patient care as directed by facility leadership.
- Conduct intake processes, searches of belongings, and complete BAC's and drug screen observations as directed.
- Monitor patient activity and document significant patient issues.
- Record rounds and ensure patient safety as specified.
- Conduct regular facility and grounds checks, advising leadership of any irregularities or safety concerns.
- Notify and report health and safety issues, significant patient concerns, and out-of-the-ordinary occurrences to leadership immediately.
- Complete all documentation requirements prior to the end of the shift.
- Perform basic housekeeping duties.
- Facilitate and lead daily groups as directed by facility leadership if applicable.
- Attend all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Complete all online training, policy verification, and ensure employee HR file is up to date.
- Monitor and oversee self-administration of patient medication if applicable.
- Provide transportation services, including patient transportation/supervision, errands, shopping, admits, outings, etc. (must be pre-qualified to drive a company vehicle).

Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid and unrestricted required State Driver's License if applicable.
- Minimum of 1 year sobriety if in recovery.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to document within an electronic system.
- First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire and required recertification annually thereafter.
- De-escalation/restraint technique certification within 90 days of hire and recertification yearly thereafter.
- Medication training within 30 days of hire if applicable.
