Job Overview: The Kitchen Operations Staff is responsible for the preparation of all food items, emphasizing exceptional standards in food quality and hygiene. Collaborate with the Head Cook to develop and execute standard recipes, manage inventory, and minimize waste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with the Manager on Duty for daily food requirements and goals.
- Assist the Head Cook in all aspects of food preparation.
- Prepare dishes following established standard recipes.
- Ensure the quality of all food products and maintain sanitation standards in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Uphold high standards of food presentation at all times.
- Regularly clean and organize storage areas, including walk-ins, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear the complete uniform during shifts.
- Keep the work area clean and organized throughout the service.
- Ensure compliance with local and federal health codes by maintaining a sanitary work environment.
- Follow company service standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with monthly inventory, daily waste tracking, and reorder processes for out-of-stock items.
- Prepare necessary food items in advance, checking oven temperatures before and after use.
- Support the receiving, storage, and proper handling of inventory.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Food & Beverage Management or senior management.
- Basic understanding of food service and preparation techniques.
- Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of discipline.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good balance and coordination, capable of walking on moving trains.
- Organizational skills with the ability to multitask while maintaining a flexible and innovative approach.
- Ability to interact positively with diverse personalities and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Adaptable to changes and committed to continuous improvement.
- Professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and driver's license verification.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility with work schedules.
- Familiarity with basic kitchen equipment, including gas and convection ovens, slicers, dishwashers, knives, and steam tables.
- Ability to work long hours, requiring prolonged standing and lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of collaborating with various personalities and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions.
- Able to tolerate temperatures ranging from 0 to 100 degrees.
