Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Head Start Teacher to join our team at Central Kentucky Community Action Council, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to enrolled children, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical caregiving, developmental assessments, and implement age-appropriate curricula for toddlers.
  • Serve as the primary teacher for children, ensuring individualized learning activities and a safe learning environment.
  • May be designated as a Center Assistant, providing continuity of care during staff breaks, staff planning, and full-day operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to monitor and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry toddlers who may range in weight up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, and rise from the floor.
  • Ability to reach with hands/arms and use hands to manipulate, handle, and feel objects.
  • Background check/drug screen.
  • Reliable transportation required.
Education and Qualifications
  • Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent college coursework.
