Role Summary:
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) plays a crucial role in the perioperative care of patients. This position entails conducting thorough preoperative evaluations and managing the administration of anesthesia and sedation under the guidance of supervising physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patient health prior to surgical procedures.
- Administer anesthesia and sedation, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Insert and manage arterial and venous catheters for monitoring purposes.
- Actively participate in emergency resuscitation efforts as part of the Code 88 team.
Experience Requirements:
Ideal candidates will have a background in anesthesia, with a preference for those possessing cardiac anesthesia experience. A minimum of 0 to 3 months of relevant experience is expected.
Educational and Licensing Criteria:
Applicants must hold a current CRNA certification and a valid nursing license in New Jersey. Additionally, candidates should have current ACLS certification and maintain Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as mandated by the AANA Council on Re-Certification.
Interpersonal Skills:
This role requires effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, necessitating a professional demeanor and the ability to influence and persuade when necessary.
Supervisory Structure:
The CRNA will provide part-time oversight to anesthesia trainees while adhering to established protocols and reporting to the immediate supervisor.
Work Schedule:
This position typically involves a bi-weekly commitment of 80 hours, operating on a Monday to Friday schedule.
