Job Description

United Cerebral Palsy Associations Inc is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Early Interventionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to parents and caregivers of children aged birth to 5 years, helping them to meet the developmental needs of their little ones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and periodic assessments of children to determine their current skills levels and progress towards meeting developmental outcomes.
  • Plan and implement play/training sessions based on assessment findings and family needs, providing suggestions and training to families on techniques to support their child's development.
  • Collaborate with other UCP disciplines serving each child/family to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of home visits and assessments, including completion and filing of paperwork according to department policy.
  • Participate in IFSP meetings, transition meetings, or IEP meetings as requested.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, Regional Center Service Coordinators, and UCP staff to ensure effective communication and support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience and/or knowledge of early childhood development, play-based techniques, and various medical conditions related to disabilities or that might place a child at-risk of developing delays.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid CDL and clean driving record, with ability to operate a vehicle in good working order for employee transportation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust to focus requirements as required in driving, reading, and writing.
