Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at the Buffalo School District. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and oversee the safety and efficiency of our transportation program, including the supervision of bus aides and drivers.
  • Conduct regular observations and evaluations of bus routes and schedules to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student safety and reduce the risk of accidents.
  • Collaborate with school administrators and transportation staff to resolve issues and concerns related to student transportation.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints and incidents related to student transportation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents, school staff, and community members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide training and support to bus aides and drivers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records and reports related to student transportation, including attendance, tardiness, and disciplinary actions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation management or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing circumstances. The Transportation Operations Manager will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, and may be required to travel to different locations within the district.
