Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Research Scientist to join our team at the University of California, San Francisco. The successful candidate will have expertise in bone histomorphometry, immunofluorescence, qCT, bone cell culture, and molecular assessment of bone and bone cells.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform tibial fractures of bioengineered mice and evaluate the fractured bones at different times after fracture using various histologic and molecular means

* Evaluate the effect of abaloparatide and other drugs on the healing process

* Cultivate bone cells to evaluate proliferation and differentiation

* Utilize next-generation DNA and RNA sequencing to determine the molecular changes during fracture repair

Requirements

* A doctorate or its equivalent is required

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential

* Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail are necessary

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with X-ray CT and structural analysis of bone is desirable

* Potential to develop a sustained source of research funding is a plus
