Denmark Technical College, a leading institution in the State of South Carolina, is seeking a highly qualified Electromechanical Engineering Instructor to join its faculty. As an instructor, you will be responsible for teaching didactic and laboratory electromechanical engineering technology and PLTW courses.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach didactic and laboratory electromechanical engineering technology and PLTW courses, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to engage students and promote learning.
- Provide leadership and management of instruction, student enrollment and advisement, student recruiting and retention, marketing the program, and services to the college and community.
- Develop and maintain course documentation, review and select textbooks for courses in the subject area, maintain audio-visual and/or other materials for courses taught through any medium.
- Provide students with course syllabus, follow grading/attendance policy and other relevant information in a timely manner, relate instructional practical examples and illustrations.
- Maintain and publicize office hours, refer students for appropriate assistance, maintain advising records, and show sensitivity to students' needs.
- Assist with recruitment, assist with job/transfer placement or recommendations, cooperate with and participate in projects/activities of other instructional and support areas in fulfillment of the college's mission.
- Submit reports in a timely manner, arrange physical environment as much as possible for effective learning, adhere to class schedules, provide effective classroom/lab supervision, maintain accurate records, provide disciplinary action where appropriate.
- Develop an annual professional development plan in conjunction with supervisor, attend courses/seminars/workshops as required or planned, write manuscripts, or present papers at conferences, etc., do research projects in the subject field.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Math, Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Electrical Electronics or Mechanical Engineering or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
- Two (2) years of college level teaching experience.
- Project Lead the Way (PLTW) certification for IED, POE, CIM, and DE courses.
