Position Overview:

The Medical Records Imaging Specialist is accountable for the acquisition, preparation, scanning, and indexing of patient documentation and reports into the electronic health record system in accordance with established guidelines and protocols. This role may involve reviewing and conducting quality assurance checks on documents within work queues. The specialist provides assistance to end users regarding suitable document types, scanning techniques, and equipment upkeep. Effective communication is essential to gain the trust and collaboration of physicians, staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Job Responsibilities:

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Ability to comprehend a variety of data and instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, patients, and other healthcare personnel.

Excellent time management and organizational abilities, including the capacity to prioritize tasks and operate within established policies and procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.

Proficient problem-solving skills; adaptable to unexpected situations and capable of swiftly transitioning between tasks.

Basic knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Identify, assess, and resolve standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.

Ensure the confidentiality of each patient's protected health information (PHI).

Foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and other staff members to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Pay Range: $23.01 to $28.75 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary based on location and other factors including experience, education, skills, licensure, and departmental needs. Base pay is one component of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health, which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
