Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team at Penn State University Talent Acquisition. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing real-time embedded systems that perform advanced data fusion algorithms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop real-time embedded systems that perform advanced data fusion algorithms incorporating sensors such as camera and imaging sensors, inertial measurements units, radio ranging, and LIDAR.
  • Embedded system design including electronic circuitry, FPGA logic, and real-time processor coding.
  • Electrical design, real-time systems, image science, and remote sensing.
  • Computer programming in one or more of the following: Python, C/C++, and/or Matlab.
  • Estimation theory and applications including those that use techniques in machine learning.
  • Applying vision-aided navigation algorithms and techniques.
  • Leading and guiding/mentoring collaborative teams.
  • Technical lead or principal investigator on DoD research programs.

Requirements:

  • Active government security clearance.
  • Proficient in Matlab/Simulink with auto-coding.
  • Proficient in guidance navigation and control and applications.
  • Graduate-level understanding of control theory and applications.
  • Relevant experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Ability to express yourself and ideas successfully to others in order to provide understanding.
  • Past experience working alongside a diverse group of people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds or previous success with collaborations in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented culture.

Working Location:

The working location for this position will be hybrid work from home/on-site. The on-site work location for this position will be located in Warminster, PA.

Travel Requirements:

This position will require periodic travel to remote locations in support of testing as part of a small team of researchers, engineers, and technologists.
