Job Summary:

As a Controls Engineer III at SP Industries, you will be responsible for researching, developing, designing, and evaluating electrical components, equipment, and systems for food, drug, and chemical batch process capital equipment and subsystems.

You will work closely with other engineering and technical personnel to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy, or feasibility of systems process functions as related to program development.

Your responsibilities will include designing for fabrication of control or power apparatus and equipment, determining methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products, and developing applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial and/or industrial, freeze drying or related pharmaceutical process equipment.

You will also participate in the control systems standards group and help ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.

Additionally, you will use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks and interface with all levels of engineering associates and customers to resolve all related control issues in process equipment function.

You will handle multiple projects and assignments for concurrent flow through engineering and production.

Responsibilities:

  • Confer with other engineering and technical personnel as well as customers to resolve problems of intent, inaccuracy, or feasibility of systems process functions as related to program development.
  • Design for fabrication of control or power apparatus and equipment, and determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products.
  • Develop applications of controls, instruments, and systems for new commercial and/or industrial, freeze drying or related pharmaceutical process equipment.
  • Participate in the control systems standards group.
  • Help ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Interface with all levels of engineering associates and customers to resolve all related control issues in process equipment function.
  • Handle multiple projects and assignments for concurrent flow through engineering and production.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with UL 508A/CE certification.
  • Experience with machine Network Diagrams.
  • Knowledge of all power wiring and control components related to freeze dryers.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC's as related to control of Pharmaceutical process equipment and SCADA/HMI software packages such as Wonderware, Intellution; GE iFIX and Allen Bradley FactoryTalk View ME/SE.
  • Ability to maintain a high activity level managing and prioritizing numerous projects.
  • Knowledge of aseptic processing and sterilization processes in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ability to interface well with colleagues and customers to access control requirements and functional operation.
  • Extremely well organized with good project skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Project, Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical.

  • Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
