Job Summary:

Essential Utilities, Inc. is seeking a skilled Payroll Assistant III to join our team. As a key member of our payroll department, you will be responsible for preparing and distributing weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter payroll timesheets, work orders, and adjustments into the payroll system.
  • Process final payments to terminated employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state legislative requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee payroll transactions, verifying pay rates and deductions.
  • Analyze and validate time sheet data, running standard reports to identify exceptions.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries and provide guidance to employees on pay or time discrepancies.
  • Update and maintain payroll policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with departmental guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliation documentation of payroll data.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of payroll experience.
  • Expert knowledge of payroll processing systems and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
