Produce Team Leader

As a key member of our Produce team, the Produce Team Leader - Fresh Produce Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our department. Reporting to the Produce Team Leader, this position is responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to Produce Team Members, while maintaining high standards of retail execution and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision and Delegation: Supervise and delegate tasks to Produce Team Members, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer service.
  • Training and Development: Work with the Produce Trainer to train new Team Members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials to build a high-performance team.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure all cases and shelves are clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated, maintaining awareness of inventory levels and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Department Operations: Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring that all necessary breaks are given to Team Members and that the department is maintained in accordance with established standards.
  • Customer Service: Foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, while maintaining awareness of customer flows and needs and directing Team Members accordingly.
  • Performance Evaluation: Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, recognizing and addressing areas for improvement and growth.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess extensive knowledge of Produce team procedures and policies, strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills. Additionally, proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications is essential.

Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: 12+ months retail experience, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of Produce team procedures and policies, strong organizational and time management skills, excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills, and proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for 6-8 hours, and work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.

We offer a competitive salary range of $18.50 - $30.20 Hourly, commensurate with experience.
