Job Title: Infant-Toddler Teacher

Join our team at Mount Washington Preschool and Child Care Center, Inc. as an Infant-Toddler Teacher, where you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our youngest learners.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of infants and toddlers. As an Infant-Toddler Teacher, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the unique needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with co-teachers to plan and implement a curriculum that promotes learning and development.
  • Assume responsibility for the classroom, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Provide responsive caregiving, including diapering, feeding, and soothing.
  • Support the Supervisor in maintaining a high-quality program that adheres to state licensing codes and NAEYC standards.
  • Document children's developmental growth through assessments, observations, and reports.
  • Communicate with parents through regular conferences and updates.
  • Model positive behavior, attitude, and language for children and colleagues.
  • Attend meetings and training workshops to stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements:
  • Working towards an AA, BA, or MA in Early Childhood Development, Human Development, or a related field.
  • 24 units in child development and 3 Infant/Toddler units.
  • Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and immunizations.
  • Computer skills, including internet software and word processing.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and hand and finger dexterity.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
  • Continual talking or hearing.
  • Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
