Job Title:
Licensed Practical Nurse - Primary Care Specialist

Job Description

  • Perform in-house lab tests, collect specimens for outside labs, and ensure quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examinations of patients.
  • Complete and update all assigned tasks and logs, including recording shipments and vaccines received in the appropriate areas.
  • Initiate follow-up as necessary, including encounters, labs, and closing non-billables.
  • Provide health teaching as indicated by the physician, diagnosis, and/or patient inquiries, and direct patients to RNs as necessary.
  • Complete prior authorizations for specialized medication and services.
  • Attend case conferences and document case updates in patient records.
  • Collect urine drug screens.
  • Follow up on patient adherence and document accordingly in patient charts.
Hard Skills

  • Licensed Practical Nurse - NYS
  • CPR Certification
  • 1-4 Years of experience, ideally in a primary care setting

The organization has multiple locations on Long Island and throughout New York's Hudson Valley, NYC, and Long Island.
