The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for managing both emergency and non-emergency security situations, ensuring they are resolved effectively.
Core Duties Include:
Responding promptly and efficiently to emergency incidents, alerts, and alarms.
Monitoring and enforcing regulations and protocols to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff, and property.
Maintaining a secure environment for the designated area of responsibility and campus as needed.
Safely directing pedestrian and vehicle traffic during emergencies or as required.
Providing a visible presence to deter crime and suspicious activities in both public and restricted areas.
Possessing a comprehensive understanding of the locations of various departments, buildings, and access routes.
Conducting patrols and providing escorts on hospital grounds.
Responding to service requests and documenting incidents in the security activity reporting system.
Ensuring that security activity and incident reports accurately reflect the details of occurrences and are completed promptly.
Documenting violations of hospital policies and reporting them to security management.Applying basic investigative skills and knowledge for preparing written incident reports.
Utilizing expertise in security and safety principles, practices, and policies.
Demonstrating a commitment to the safety of staff and patients while supporting the appropriate use of force when necessary.
Contributing to safety plans and ensuring adherence to safe practices.Communicating ideas effectively, using persuasion and negotiation to foster collaboration and cooperation.
Performing additional technical duties as required to support hospital operations.
This position requires flexibility and may involve working across various hospital and clinic sites as needed.
