The Food Preparation Specialist is responsible for welcoming and serving customers, preparing meals, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, and managing light administrative tasks. Providing outstanding customer service is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Displays a friendly and accommodating demeanor while interacting with customers and fulfilling their orders.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of menu offerings and accurately communicates them to patrons.
  • Utilizes the Point of Sale system to record transactions and calculate totals. Handles customer payments and provides change as necessary.
  • Conducts Cash-In Procedures, ensuring accurate accounting of all monetary transactions during the shift.
  • Prepares food items according to established guidelines, ensuring efficiency and presentation.
  • Monitors inventory in the food preparation area and replenishes supplies to maintain adequate stock throughout the shift.
  • Follows proper food handling, safety, and sanitation protocols during food preparation, service, and cleanup processes.
  • Maintains cleanliness in all restaurant areas to uphold a positive image. Adheres to the three-step cleaning method.
  • Complies with all quality standards, recipes, and procedures as specified in the SUBWAY Operations Manual.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and grooming in accordance with company standards.
  • Completes assigned administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participates in training programs as directed by management.

Qualifications

Education: Some high school education or equivalent.

Experience & Skills: No prior experience necessary. Ability to comprehend and execute written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements: Must be capable of working in various areas of the restaurant as required and operating a computerized Point of Sale system. The role necessitates bending, standing, and walking throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
