Position Overview:
As an Electrical Engineer specializing in Energy Storage Solutions, you will be instrumental in the integration of battery systems for leading-edge products within the Agricultural and Construction sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, focusing on the essential aspects of electrical system architecture and the necessary interfaces for comprehensive integration with vehicle systems.

The ideal candidate will take charge of the integration and selection of all electrical components related to energy storage, guiding the process from initial concept through to production launch.

  • Develop detailed system specifications, schematics, and component requirements.
  • Select battery pack and disconnect unit subcomponents in accordance with system-level specifications and performance criteria.
  • Define and create high voltage/low voltage interconnects, control mechanisms, and wiring strategies for optimal battery operation.
  • Generate conceptual battery component CAD models during the early phases of product development.
  • Engage with vehicle teams, suppliers, functional safety experts, software developers, diagnostics teams, battery management systems, and prototype build teams.
  • Support the service and troubleshooting of field battery packs using existing schematics and established processes.
  • Lead and collaborate with suppliers on design strategies and solutions throughout the entire battery pack development lifecycle.
  • Assist in the creation and application of modeling strategies and analytical tools.
  • Work closely with the pack design manager and propulsion system team to provide performance insights for trade studies.
  • Oversee the development of high voltage safety concepts for components and wiring.
  • Contribute to the development of electrical system Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) for both internal and supplier designs.
  • Interface with procurement and suppliers during the sourcing and development phases.
  • Collaborate with lead engineers, cross-functional team members, and engineering service teams (including vehicle, modeling and simulation, software, and functional safety).
  • Communicate development progress to leadership, identify project risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare for and participate in both formal and informal design/peer review sessions.
  • Act as a key member of the Product Development Team (PDT) and engage with teams across various global locations.

Staying Current:
Remain informed about the latest advancements in energy storage technologies, components, and strategies, driving the creation of innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in areas including:

  • Development of electrical system architectures for high voltage systems.
  • Design and development of various battery pack components (such as busbars, fuses, wiring, connectors, contactors, and control modules), including evaluation, selection, connection, routing, and sizing.

Preferred:
Experience in electrical schematic creation, maintenance, and interpretation using Siemens Capital software suite or similar tools.
Familiarity with CAD and PLM software, specifically CREO Parametric and Teamcenter.
Experience with vehicle electrical harness assembly and manufacturing, as well as harness 2D print interpretation.
Knowledge of battery pack to vehicle integration and electrical system standards (UN, UL, SAE, ISO, FMVSS).
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills in English, alongside excellent interpersonal skills and proactive behaviors.
Experience in the Agriculture and Construction sectors is a plus.
Master's degree in Engineering is preferred.
