Power Distribution Systems Engineer

**Job Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in electrical engineering principles, practices, and methods used in the operation, maintenance, and construction of an electrical power transmission and distribution system.

**Responsibilities:**

• Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks

• Plans, designs, and writes specifications for power distribution equipment, MCCs, drives, etc.

• Conducts Code reviews to ensure compliance from a number of codes and standards

• Designs and works with power distribution and utility interconnections

• Reviews and coordinates activities involving switching, maintenance, and operation of the electrical power system

• Inspects field work to ensure conformance with plans and specifications; to ensure proper and safe working environment

• Directs and reviews power distribution operating procedures

• Identifies and recommends changes in existing power distribution system and suggests changes in plans to meet operational or department requirements and regulations

• Develops, recommends, and implements solid engineering solutions for system tolerance problems

• Supports capital projects by collaborating with other departments and specifying, accepting, and overseeing installation of power distribution equipment

• Studies performance and reliability of existing equipment and establishes programs and solutions for decreasing equipment downtime

• Eliminates/reduces equipment defects

• Troubleshoots electrical equipment and power distribution system, determines root cause, and takes corrective action to resolve system failures

**Requirements:**

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

• Four or more years of oil and gas experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and methods used in the operation, maintenance, and construction of an electrical power transmission and distribution system

• Strong technical, quantitative analysis, and process orientation skills

• Proficient with engineering software

• Solid verbal and written communication skills

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

• Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of Company personnel, customers, vendors, and visitors

• Ability to work as self-directed individual and in a team environment

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to organize and direct the activities of the power distribution work activities and coordinate such activities with operations and maintenance departments

• Demonstrated organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in an effective manner

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound engineering principles

• Knowledge of process design, instrumentation, process control, and statistics

• Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
