Job Title: Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Westfield State University. As a Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our campus facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning tasks in all campus buildings, including dusting, washing walls and windows, and cleaning floors and equipment.
  • Grounds Keeping: Maintain the appearance of the campus grounds, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and removing snow.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Perform minor repairs to buildings and equipment, including fixing leaky faucets and replacing light bulbs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair equipment, including snow blowers and lawn mowers.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the Facilities Management team and communicate with colleagues and supervisors as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required
  • 1-2 Years of Maintenance Experience: Required
  • Ability to Lift 50 Pounds: Required
  • Ability to Work at Heights: Required
  • Valid Driver's License: Required

Working Conditions:

The Maintenance Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to dust, dirt, and other environmental hazards. The position requires the ability to work at heights, lift heavy objects, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
