Rehabilitation Services Assistant

As a key member of the Arnot Health team, the Rehabilitation Services Technician plays a vital role in assisting professional therapists with patient-related activities, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for our patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist with patient treatment preparations, including informing therapists of patient arrival, assisting with forms, and ensuring patients are properly positioned for treatment.
- Support therapists with aquatic therapy treatments, under their direction.
- Assist patients in developing strength and endurance, under the guidance of therapists.
- Support ambulatory training procedures, as assigned by therapists.
- Perform and monitor selected procedures and programs, commensurate with training and assigned by therapists.
- Maintain a clean and organized department, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
- Monitor supply levels, order approved supplies, and maintain equipment cleanliness.
- Strip and replace treatment table linens, maintain linen levels, and restock as needed.
- Clean equipment between patient use, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Verify AED, eye wash station, and department equipment functionality at the start of each day.
- Manage ice pack, hydrocollator, and paraffin machine cleaning schedules.
- Measure and record temperatures of hydrocollator, paraffin, and refrigerator on scheduled intervals.
- Assist with lymphedema evaluations and treatments, as requested.
- Make reminder phone calls to new patients, providing directions, co-pay information, and answering questions.
- Perform secretarial/clerical duties in the absence of the Rehab Secretary, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate electronic schedules.
- Assist therapists with scheduling follow-up appointments, calling patients who do not show, and monitoring arrival times.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in the health field preferred but not necessary. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire date. The employee must be able to lift at least 30 pounds independently and 150 pounds with assistance.
Physical Demands:The Rehabilitation Services Technician will be required to perform appreciable physical effort or strain, including lifting, pushing, and pulling. The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
