**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanic to join our team in the Town of Lexington, Massachusetts. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment used by various departments within the town.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $54,064, which includes excellent health, dental, and leave benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment used by various departments within the town
  • Diagnose and repair complex systems and components of equipment and vehicles, including engine systems, electrical functions, cooling systems, and more
  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment used in the performance of essential job functions
  • Keep records and make reports as necessary

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school (or GED equivalent) plus additional technical or specialized training, supplemented at least 4 years of automotive mechanical repair work preferred
  • Possession of a valid driver's license; Class B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement; Massachusetts Class 2B Hoisting License

Working Conditions

This position requires frequent exposure to adverse weather conditions, dust, odors, noise, vibrations, and heavy machinery. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to and in excess of 50 pounds.
