Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Correctional Deputy to join our team at the Washington County Sheriff's Office. As a Correctional Deputy, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of working level professional law enforcement duties related to operating the Washington County Jail, including safety, supervision, booking, release, and inmate programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of working level professional law enforcement duties related to operating the Washington County Jail.
  • Ensure the safety and security of inmates, staff, and visitors.
  • Supervise and monitor inmates during their stay in the jail.
  • Process and book inmates, including conducting searches and collecting evidence.
  • Release inmates from custody, including processing paperwork and coordinating transportation.
  • Develop and implement inmate programs, including educational and recreational activities.
Requirements
  • Graduation from High School or GED.
  • Valid Utah Driver's License.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A minimum of 1 year of previous corrections officer experience as a Utah POST-certified BCO.
  • Out of State POST BCO / Corrections certified officers are encouraged to apply, but must contact Utah POST to ensure eligibility to challenge the Utah BCO certification process.
