The Visual Communications Specialist will work collaboratively within a small team at a secure government facility. This position involves direct interaction with clients to brainstorm, design, and deliver impactful visual products tailored for both internal and external audiences. A strong understanding of how to optimize designs for various formats—including print, digital, and video—is crucial. Familiarity with accessibility standards, particularly Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, is also required to ensure all products are accessible to all users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating compelling graphics, infographics, reports, templates, and presentations.
  • Designing marketing materials and digital assets for diverse media platforms.
  • Translating complex information into engaging visual narratives.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest trends in design and visual communication.
  • Specifically:
    • Developing comprehensive digital production and design strategies.
    • Evaluating production methods and optimizing resources for media projects.
    • Visualizing intelligence data through graphics to convey strategic concepts.
    • Producing a variety of digital graphics, including brochures, posters, and charts.
    • Demonstrating expertise in desktop publishing and web design.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
  • Recent experience in graphic design within a multimedia environment.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience with classified materials.
  • A diverse portfolio showcasing both digital and print design work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and familiarity with CorelDraw and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Specifically:
    • Knowledge of production techniques using Adobe After Effects and Flash.
    • Ability to navigate various operating systems and peripheral devices.
    • Capability to produce high-quality visual materials, including maps and promotional items.
    • Problem-solving skills to address visual communication challenges effectively.
    • Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
    • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
    • Experience working with government agencies or similar organizations.
