Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Specialist Manager to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our units, ensuring that all clinical aspects meet regulatory requirements for residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the safe and effective day-to-day management of the milieu through adequate staff coverage, training, and developing sound policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Plan and develop unit schedules and provide a safe and positive environment on the units, ensuring staff-to-resident ratio compliance.
  • Provide training and orientation for new staff, as well as direct feedback, coaching, mentoring, and training to ensure staff development and compliance.
  • Recruit, interview, select, hire, and promote employees for the milieu staff, ensuring a skilled and dedicated team.
  • Provide direction to the Milieu Coordinator regarding scheduling of staff as required by regulation and safety needs.
  • Oversee or facilitate the individual and admission discharge processes, ensuring seamless transitions for residents.
  • Manage the maintenance of records, reviewing content, accuracy, and timeliness of paperwork required by milieu staff, ensuring 100% compliance of individual records.
  • Responsible for maintaining timekeeping for staff, evaluating staff performance, and taking corrective action as required.
  • Provide direction and assistance in supervising residents in crisis intervention, emergency, and conflict situations, which may include physical management and/or de-escalation.
  • As a team leader, must be able to assist with patients and cover unit/group home as necessary to maintain ratio.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers always, acknowledging and working to resolve complaints, and recognizing patient safety as a top priority.

Additionally, you will be responsible for training staff and/or family members to maintain and/or continue implementing the BSI plan, collecting data via observation and intervention, and documenting appropriately. You will also train staff who provide other IDD/DD Waiver services to the individual on how to implement the BSI Plan and collect data, shadow and/or intervene with undesired behaviors, assist the individual to become more effective in controlling their own behavior, and document collaboration with medical and other therapies to promote coherent and coordinated services.

As a key member of our team, you will participate in the development of the Behavior Support Plan with the Behavior Consultant, implement the plan, collect and analyze data for the effectiveness of the plan, monitor fidelity of implementation, and adjust or revise strategies as approved by the Behavior Consultant. You will also provide face-to-face training on the Behavior Support Plan and implementation strategies to staff and other caregivers, monitor program staff and other caregivers on the implementation of the plan, and submit documentation to the Behavior Consultant as specified in the plan.
