Substitute School Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substitute School Nurse to join our team at North Lamar Independent School District. As a Substitute School Nurse, you will provide regular school nurse healthcare in the absence of the school nurse, ensuring the health and well-being of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical care for ill or injured students, including administering medication and documenting medical records.
- Disperse student medication to the proper students and maintain accurate documentation logs.
- Collaborate with school staff, administrators, and medical professionals to ensure a safe and healthy school environment.
- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Adhere to all applicable professional safety standards and practices in the nursing field, including federal and state laws, and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
- At least one year of experience in a nurse occupation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, symptoms, diagnoses, treatments, first aid, illnesses, and injuries, nutrition, and related areas.
- Ability to diagnose and provide care for ill or injured students.
- Ability to convey medical information to school district staff or medical professionals.
- Ability to problem solve job-related issues and work with a diverse group of individuals and students with special needs.
- LVN, RN, or BSN degree.
- Experience working with students with special needs.
