Job Title: Senior Category Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Category Leader to join our team at PG&E Corporation. As a key member of our Sourcing organization, you will be responsible for developing and managing sourcing strategies for low to medium complexity spend categories.

Job Summary:

The Senior Category Leader will lead cross-functional teams through the strategic sourcing process, developing and executing negotiation strategies for low to medium complexity spend categories. You will maintain awareness of industry and market trends through ongoing research, conduct and document market research and supplier risk analysis, and create and maintain category plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage sourcing strategies for low to medium complexity spend categories
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the strategic sourcing process
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for low to medium complexity spend categories
  • Maintain awareness of industry and market trends through ongoing research
  • Conduct and document market research and supplier risk analysis
  • Create and maintain category plans
  • Develop and sustain mutually beneficial strategic relationships with tier 1 and 2 suppliers
  • Develop and review performance data with suppliers
Qualifications:
  • 4 years of supply chain or other related discipline
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Desired: MBA or equivalent advanced degree, Six Sigma, CPSM, or related certificate
  • 6 years of work experience in the areas of procurement, sourcing and/or contract management
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems and implementation barriers
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • Project management or utility experience
  • Ability to work on multiple issues and tasks
  • Ability to influence senior leadership decision making and strategy
