Job Title: Civil Engineering Graduate - Designer

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Graduate - Designer to join our team at IMEG Consultants Corp.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients. This role will involve assisting in engineering assessment and analysis, design, field inspections, writing reports, preparing permit applications, site drainage & grading designs, utility layout, and gaining knowledge of the Civil Engineering trade.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic calculations based on assignment, including hydraulic calculations, traffic projections, and calculations to balance site earthwork.
  • Prepare designs for water and sewer systems for smaller private systems as well as larger municipal systems.
  • Prepare grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential site plans.
  • Surface modeling, water shed modeling, storm sewer design, sanitary sewer design utilizing engineering software.
  • Assist with permit applications for a variety of municipalities and review authorities.
  • Pipe sizing and loading calculations.
  • Roadway profiles and geometric design.
  • Channel and culvert hydraulics.
  • Flexible pavement design and rigid pavement design.
  • Geometric pavement and site circulation design.
  • Site grading and earthwork computations.
Requirements:
  • Proficient skills or knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and the ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible.
  • Developing proficiency of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience minimum in the building design consulting industry required.
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) license preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull.
  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.
