As a Project Manager within the WHSE Design & Automation division, you will facilitate the deployment of systems and equipment at both new and existing facilities, guiding projects from concept to execution. Successful project delivery will involve collaboration with Operations, Data/Analytics, Continuous Improvement, Integrations, Software Development, and Lifecycles Support teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals to manage projects related to the installation of warehouse automation systems in both new and existing facilities, including the initiation of new equipment, technology, and software projects.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to implement new workflows, equipment, and processes while managing timelines, budgets, and communications effectively.
  • Evaluate design documents for compliance, overseeing the quoting, design, and procurement of necessary equipment.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for future turn-key integrations across the distribution network, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Become a subject matter expert in all aspects of fulfillment center operations, supporting performance enhancement through process standardization, training of operational staff, conducting data analysis, and addressing obstacles that hinder operational KPIs.
  • Proactively identify potential issues, mitigate risks, and devise solutions to maintain customer service levels and operational KPIs.
  • Exhibit technical proficiency, which may include testing hardware and software, documenting results, and collaborating with both internal and external partners to identify solutions.
  • Apply operational knowledge by engaging directly with frontline distribution center staff, offering training on new equipment and processes.
  • Conduct field assessments of operations to critically evaluate workflows and develop new processes to assist operations in meeting KPIs.
  • Future objective: Build and lead a high-performing team to achieve goals while fostering team member development to enhance both expertise and performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required, not exceeding 50%.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field involving construction, automation, and/or industrial maintenance is essential.
  • Prior project management experience is preferred, including familiarity with methodologies such as Agile, Six Sigma, and Scrum.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, with proficiency in AutoCAD and/or similar software preferred.
  • Education and/or experience in supply chain management is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability or experience in managing and being directly responsible for employment decisions for exempt employees.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Power BI is preferred.

  • Exhibit a natural mechanical aptitude with a broad understanding of software platforms, automation, conveyance, packaging assets, and various material handling equipment.
