Job Title: Platform Engineering

State Street is seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. As a key member of our Application and Infrastructure teams, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate receipt, tagging, and reporting of telemetry from applications, business events, appliances, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a global team to maintain and optimize the observability platform, ensuring it operates within SLI and SLO's.
  • Configure monitoring, alerting, and reporting for logs and metrics using tools like Splunk, Elasticsearch, and Workbench.
  • Perform installation and upgrade of Splunk and Splunk forwarders.
  • Instrument applications to enable monitoring and alerting, providing actionable inputs to AppSupport and Dev teams.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to analyze agent performance impact and troubleshoot issues.
  • Analyze logs and metrics to identify root causes of applications and provide tuning recommendations.
  • Work closely with delivery and operations specialists to ensure proper tuning and operation of systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with development and support teams to resolve performance-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in App/Infra monitoring, support, and application performance management and tuning.
  • Experience with Splunk platform support, Java/J2EE/Spring technologies, Python scripting, log aggregation tools, and ITSI, Splunk dashboards, or add-ons.
  • Proven understanding of full life cycle software development methodologies.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: $140,000 - $222,500 Annual.
  • Up to 5% domestic travel.
  • Telecommuting permitted pursuant to Company policy.
