Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief of Staff to join our team at the City of Boise. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will provide strategic direction and oversight for our community programs, including the Department of Arts and History, the Library Department, and the Parks and Recreation Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct the work of executive-level staff
  • Ensure that assigned operations and activities align with organizational goals and objectives
  • Direct actions and results for departments and maintain control of budget authority
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, agency partners, and elected officials
  • Identify and integrate organizational goals and strategies based on community input and operational needs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, a discipline within community programs, or a closely related field
  • 10 years of progressively responsible executive-level management and/or administrative experience
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of managing mid-to-large-size organizations, financial management, public administration, and effective management and supervision
  • Ability to plan and direct operations and activities, problem solve, and work in a fast-paced environment
