Job Title: Detention Deputy

Ada County, ID is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Detention Deputy to join our team. As a Detention Deputy, you will be responsible for maintaining the security and custody of inmates, processing inmates into the jail, and supervising inmate visitations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain security and custody of inmates
  • Process inmates into the jail and assign them to the proper level of confinement
  • Supervise inmate visitations
  • Perform routine security checks
  • Preserve and enforce Idaho laws and departmental jail policies
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Ability to supervise and communicate with inmates
  • Ability to take criticism and verbal abuse from inmates and their visitors without reacting in a negative manner
