Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Student Billing Specialist to join our team at Delta College. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students, employees, and outside agencies, while maintaining the integrity of the student accounts receivable system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and analyze student accounts receivable for accurate charges and financial aid
  • Work closely with the Student Billing Manager/Technologist to maintain the integrity of the student accounts receivable system
  • Assist students with information concerning payment to cover their educational costs
  • Administer the Payment Plan Program, Debt Repayment Plan, and assist with the collection process
  • Process transactions and information on all student bankruptcy's received and scan documents for retention purposes
  • Assist with auditing academic receivable accounts on a weekly basis for students eligible for a refund due to dropped or cancelled classes
  • Run monthly reports to notify students of checks not cashed and work with FAO to adjust accounts as appropriate
Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent knowledge/skills
  • One year of experience in an accounting, business, or finance office
  • One year of professional customer service experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with accounts receivable
  • Two or more years of position-related experience
  • Two or more years of professional customer service experience
