We are seeking a skilled Customer Service Specialist to join our team as a Live Chat Representative. This role will provide exceptional customer service to existing and potential clients through online support.

Job Overview

This is a regular full-time position based in Lansing, Michigan. As a Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting customers with inquiries regarding billing, insurance coverage, and member benefits in a prompt and professional manner.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming chats and tickets from Farm Bureau Insurance customers and members in a quick and courteous manner.
  • Provide online service during standard and after-standard business hours.
  • Proactively research and resolve policy issues and online account technical grievances.
  • Document activities and report back to agent offices.
  • Promote additional coverages for customers when appropriate.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of professional office experience and customer service, preferably in insurance or live chat.
  • Experienced computer usage and proven skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
  • An active P/C license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
  • Keyboarding skills with accuracy.
  • The willingness to pursue continuing job-related training and education.
