Job Title: Adjunct Instructor of Accounting

This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position in the Department of Accounting at Jackson State Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching accounting courses, including introductory and advanced courses, as well as courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, and auditing.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach accounting courses, including lectures, discussions, and lab sessions, to students in a variety of settings, including on-campus, online, and hybrid courses.
  • Develop and implement course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments, to ensure student learning and success.
  • Grade student assignments and exams, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Engage in professional development activities, including attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions, to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning.
Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 18 credit hours of graduate-level accounting coursework from an accredited institution.
  • Experience teaching accounting courses, preferably at the collegiate level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Pay and Benefits:

The salary for this position is $600 per credit hour. The college offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and departmental needs. The successful candidate will be required to submit a resume, cover letter, and transcripts as part of the application process.
