Mixologist

As a Beverage Specialist at The Verve Hotel, you will engage directly with patrons by crafting and serving a variety of drink selections. Your role encompasses ensuring compliance with age regulations, understanding beverage pairings and flavors, mastering the art of both classic and contemporary cocktails, processing transactions, overseeing stock levels, and maintaining cleanliness of bar equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and fulfill drink orders from guests and waitstaff.
• Prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with the hotel's established drink recipes.
• Accurately input drink orders into the point-of-sale system immediately upon receipt.
• Handle guest payments, process credit card transactions, and provide change when necessary.
• Clean and sanitize glassware to maintain hygiene standards.
• Prepare garnishes for beverages and restock snacks and appetizers for bar customers.
• Organize bottles and glassware in an appealing and functional manner to facilitate efficient drink preparation and promote beverage offerings.
• Clear and reset tables in the bar area as needed.
• Present drink menus, offer recommendations, and respond to inquiries regarding beverages.
• Ensure cleanliness in all bar areas, including countertops, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage spaces.
• Serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
• Report any equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs to the restaurant manager.
• Assist in the restocking and replenishment of bar supplies and inventory.
• Be prepared to assist in various roles to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant as directed by management.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language(s) of our guests.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and common drink recipes.
• Basic mathematical skills for handling cash and operating a register.
• Capability to stand for extended periods.
• Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
