Job Description

Our client, a leading General Contractor in the Midwest, is seeking a skilled Construction Project Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the project management team, you will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager in all phases of construction, from pre-construction to project closeout.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Project Manager in all phases of construction, including pre-construction, construction, and project closeout.
  • Write and submit RFI's, and distribute them accordingly.
  • Review and understand subcontract documents as they apply to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Notify management of significant project events, such as project successes, issues, injuries, client relations, potential losses/claims.
  • Work with the owner/client to provide updates, obtain approvals, and complete change orders for scope of work revisions.
  • Assist with documenting changes, maintain project records, red line transfers, and correspondence.
  • Ensure all work is done in compliance with OSHA.
  • Monitor project costs to stay within budget.
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience working in commercial, healthcare, K-12/Higher ED, industrial, multifamily, or retail construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Manage administrative construction duties, including document control.
  • Prepare submittal schedules for approval and distribution.
  • Assist the Superintendent with RFI reports, QA/QC documentation, and construction field operations.
  • Assist with preconstruction tasks, including estimating and quantification.
  • Collect and log closeout documents and punch lists.
