Coconuts Caribbean Restaurant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Lead to join our team at Coconuts Caribbean Grill in Downtown Palo Alto.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen functions, including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition, as well as providing training to new kitchen employees.

This is a full-time position, and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in varied kitchen positions, including food preparation, line cook, fry cook, and expediter. They will also need to be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and dining room personnel, as well as guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
  • Make employment and termination decisions, including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and disciplining kitchen personnel as appropriate.
  • Provide orientation of company and department rules, policies, and procedures, and oversee training of new kitchen employees.
  • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner.

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
