Quality Engineer II

At Sargent Aerospace and Defense, we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer II to join our team. As a Quality Engineer II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customer complaints and product returns, and conduct root cause analysis (RCCA) as applicable.
  • Support customer on-site audits and evaluations, and interpret customer contracts, POs, specifications, drawing notes, and requirements.
  • Create, revise, and implement technical quality tasks, including MRRs, CARs, MRB dispositions, QC items, purges, VIRs, and QC approvals.
  • Collaborate in the design, implementation, and utilization of formal quality tools, including process mapping, FMEAs, control plans, process controls, and inspection plans.
  • Define supplier quality requirements, ensure alignment to customer and Sargent's requirements, and lead and assist with Gage R&R studies.
  • Participate in the TIER II daily meeting, reporting on COPQ, MRRs, and RMAs status.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree or four years of quality assurance experience.
  • Familiarity with quality tool usage, including root cause analysis, measurement system analysis, process reviews, Pareto analysis, and failure mode effects analysis.
  • Proven knowledge of Quality Management System standards.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, including GD&T and other requirements.
  • Experience in ISO 9100/AS 9100 Quality System.
  • Exposure to quality metrics, statistical control analysis, and critical thinking methodologies.
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively, identify and develop quality solutions, and use appropriate judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with applicable computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree.
  • ASQ-CQE or CQA certification.
  • Experience with DFARS.
  • AS 9100 internal auditor certification.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement techniques, Lean, and Six Sigma, Green Belt trained.
  • Material Review Board experience.
  • Previous experience as a customer-delegated inspector.
Working Conditions:

The ability to sit at a desk and work with a computer is necessary, sometimes for extended periods. The ability to safely move about in a variety of work environments, from office to manufacturing floor, and other. The ability to remain on a manufacturing shop floor, sometimes for extended periods, while meeting specified safety requirements.
