Job Summary:
The Clinic RN Supervisor is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care services to our elderly participants. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision and evaluation of clinic nurses, home care coordinators, medical assistants, and medical clerks.
- Oversee clinic triage and patient flow, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
- Administer, monitor, and record prescribed medications and treatments, including IV fluids, medications, oxygen, etc.
- Offer nursing consultation to other staff members as needed.
- Conduct and/or delegate participant assessments according to the IDT assessment schedule.
- Notify providers of any marked changes in participants' condition, including discovery of wounds, and any acute physical or behavioral changes.
- Provide teaching, counseling, and health education to participants and family members regarding nursing care needs.
- Ensure all medical orders are carried out by the appropriate personnel and documented as completed in the participant's medical record.
- Participate in daily IDT meetings and ensure clinic staff are informed of all IDT decisions.
- Follow all agency policies and procedures, ensuring clinic staff adheres to organization policies and procedures.
- Approve clinic staff timesheets, verifying accuracy of reported work hours.
- Engage in departmental planning and evaluation of service delivery.
- Ensure Home Care Coordinators implement approved home care services.
- Coordinate supply ordering for the clinic.
- Ensure Medical Clerk phone line is answered during clinic hours.
- Evaluate staffing needs and hire appropriate staffing according to the agency budget.
- Ensure the clinic remains in compliance with Title 22 and any other applicable Federal/State Regulations.
- Ensure clinic staff communicates effectively and appropriately with other people involved in participant care or clinic/site functioning.
- Participate in departmental and organization meetings.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Participate in the agency quality improvement (QI) plan and other initiatives as assigned.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and information about participants or families.
- Follow all CEI Policies and Procedures.
- Comply with all agency training requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following CEI's safety P&P's.
- Maintain a courteous, helpful, and professional attitude on the job, displaying a willingness and ability to be responsive to all customer groups.
Qualifications:
- Licensed RN, State of California, BSN preferred.
- Three (3) years of nursing experience at RN level.
- 1-2 years supervisory experience required with other related experience.
- A minimum of (1) year experience in an acute care setting and experience working with a frail or elderly population.
- Able to perform in an emergency situation and provide direction and support in an appropriate manner.
- Excellent telephone/customer service skills.
- Exercises initiative and flexibility, able to plan, organize, and meet deadlines, taking into account changing priorities.
- Able to work in a multi-cultural and inter-disciplinary setting.
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, co-workers, medical staff, and the public, able to be congenial with other employees, customers, and vendors at all times.
- Current CPR and First Aid training certification on file.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft office programs.
- Prior experience with an EMR System required.
