Position Summary:

The Transportation Specialist is tasked with the responsibility of safely conveying passengers according to the schedule outlined for their designated routes. This role involves providing transport services to and from various appointments, ensuring a reliable and efficient service. The Specialist will also be responsible for identifying necessary vehicle maintenance, completing required checklists, maintaining essential documentation, and adhering to all relevant transportation regulations.

Essential Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with operational protocols associated with Medicaid Waivers.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is mandatory.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to transportation schedules for clients receiving waiver services.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily transportation activities.
  • Complete vehicle inspection checklists.
  • Stay informed about transportation regulations.
  • Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on vehicles.
  • Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and presentable.
  • Maintain all necessary documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with the Transportation Manager to develop policies and procedures.
  • Support the mission, values, and objectives of Harbor House.

Qualifications and Training:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • No more than two moving violations in the past three years.
  • Completion of Drug and Alcohol Training is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals with disabilities.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to adapt to various external conditions.
  • Capacity to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
